Unemployment Fund of Social and Healthcare Workers is launching new employment support services

The legislative amendment that came into effect in 2024 allows unemployment funds to play more active role in promoting employment, as funds are now authorized to offer employment services to their members. In October 2024, we conducted a survey to identify our members wishes regarding the content of these services. We have taken the survey’s feedback into account when planning the services.

Results of the member survey

The most desired services were the following:

  • Targeted job advertisements: 55 % of respondents wanted job postings tailored to their skills and workplace preferences.
  • CV and application templates: 51% of respondents wanted material bank with CV and application templates.
  • Information about industry-specific training: 42 % wished for up-to-date information on training opportunities in their field.
  • Online training: General-purpose training, such as webinars focused on digital skills and first aid, interested approximately 30 % of respondents.
  • Career coaching: About 30 % of respondents wanted personal career coaching.

As many as 90 % of respondents preferred that services would be delivered online.

Members stress the importance of the Unemployment Fund starting to provide employment support services

The survey showed that members of the Unemployment Fund of Social and Healthcare Workers consider it important that the fund supports their employment by offering new services.

  • 70 % of respondents considered the provision of services to be either very or fairly important.
  • Only 3 % of respondents saw no need for these services at all.

Regarding service usage, over half of respondents (54 %) stated they would definitely or likely use the services.

Information on future services on the Support for job search page

We have already launched a new Support for job search page on our website. There you can find information on upcoming services. The site will be updated as new services are finalized.

In January, we will also launch the first pilot project for employment support services in collaboration with UP! Career Services. The pilot will include AI-based personalized coaching. The pilot will be available to the first 200 members who sign up.

Based on the results, we will evaluate the possibility of expanding the service to all members. Our goal is to offer the first services to all members by summer 2025. We are also planning new partnerships and services, which we will announce during the spring.
