The membership fee for the Unemployment Fund of Social and Healthcare Workers is the lowest in Finland. The average membership fee for unemployment funds for those earning 3,000 euros is 80 euros in year 2025. Paying the Membership Fee when You Belong to Both a Union and the Fund
If you belong to one of the following unions, the union will pay the Unemployment Fund of Social and Healthcare Workers membership fee on your behalf:

• Suomen Fysioterapeutit ry
• Suomen Toimintaterapeutit ry
• Suomen Työterveyshoitajaliitto ry

Paying the Membership Fee if You Do Not Belong to a Union
If you are only a member of the Unemployment Fund of Social and Healthcare Workers, the fund will send you the 2025 membership fee invoice in January. We recommend setting up an e-invoice in your online bank for easier payment. If you have not yet set up e-invoicing, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your online bank.
2. Search for the biller by the name Terveydenhuoltoalan työttömyyskassa.
3. Enter your personal identification number as the reference information.
If you do not set up e-invoicing, we will send a paper invoice to the address you have provided to the fund.
Would You Like to Join the Unemployment Fund of Social and Healthcare workers?
You can join the Unemployment Fund of Social and Healthcare Workers if you are employed and have completed a vocational qualification in the social, health care, education, or rehabilitation sector. If you are studying in one of these fields, you can join the fund during your studies as long as you have been employed for at least one day in any sector. You can also remain a member of the Unemployment Fund of Social and Healthcare workers even if you later switch to another field of work.
As a member of the unemployment fund, you have the right to earnings-related unemployment allowance during unemployment or layoff. All unemployment funds are governed by the same unemployment insurance law, ensuring the same benefit level regardless of the fund you belong to.
